PakBills Privacy Policy
This policy explains how the PakBills app handles information. PakBills is published by AVORA SIA ("we", "us"). In short: PakBills has no accounts, ads or analytics, we don't run servers that receive your bill numbers or bills, and what you save stays on your device.
Who we are
AVORA SIA publishes PakBills and is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at [email protected].
Information the app handles
- Numbers you enter: the reference number, Customer ID, account number or consumer number from your bill. When you check a bill, the app sends this number from your device directly to the official website of the company you chose. It is not sent to us.
- Bill pages: the bill is loaded from the company's website and shown in the app. It contains what is printed on the bill, such as the name and address on the connection, amounts, usage and payment history. The app reads the customer name, bill month, amounts, due date and payment status from the page to show a summary.
- Saved bills: if you save a bill, the app stores its number, company and connection type, your nickname and notes, and the summary read from the bill page in a database on your device.
- Settings: your theme, your answer to "Are you outside Pakistan?" and whether you have accepted the disclaimer are stored on your device.
- Calculators: what you enter in the bill calculator, appliance auditor and sizing tools is used on your device to work out estimates. It is not sent anywhere.
- Share and Print: when you tap Share, the app saves an image of the bill page in its cache folder and passes it to the app you pick. When you tap Print, the page goes to Android's print service. What happens next is up to the app or service you chose.
What we don't collect
PakBills does not ask you to sign up. It does not collect your name, phone number, email address, location, contacts or advertising ID, and it contains no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting tools. We don't sell personal data or share it with anyone.
Official company websites
To show a bill, your device connects to the company's website: bill.pitc.com.pk (PITC, for LESCO, IESCO, MEPCO, FESCO, GEPCO, PESCO, HESCO, SEPCO, QESCO, TESCO, HAZECO, AJK and Sundar), K-Electric's duplicate bill page, www.sngpl.com.pk or viewbill.ssgc.com.pk. That website receives the number you entered, your IP address and the usual browser details, and it may set cookies, which the app keeps on your device as a browser would.
These websites are run by the companies, not by us, and their own privacy policies apply. Some ask you to pass a security check, such as typing a code or Google reCAPTCHA; Google's Privacy Policy applies to reCAPTCHA.
Calls, messages and links
Helpline numbers open your phone app, SMS shortcuts open your messaging app with a message ready for you to send, and website links open your browser. Those apps and the services you contact handle what happens next.
Backups
If backup is turned on for your device, Android may include PakBills' saved bills and settings in your device backup (for example in your Google account) and restore them on a new phone. You control this in your device settings.
Deleting your data
You can delete a saved bill in My Bills, or all saved bills in Settings. Uninstalling PakBills or clearing its storage in Android settings removes everything it stored on your device, including cookies set by the bill websites.
If you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and what you write, and we use them only to reply and help you. We keep this correspondence only as long as we need it to deal with your request and keep a record of it, and then delete it.
Legal basis (EU and EEA)
Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, we handle your emails on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering them (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Information the app keeps on your device stays under your control and is not processed by us.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy of it. Because PakBills keeps your data on your device, we usually hold nothing about you except emails you have sent us. To use these rights, email [email protected].
If you are in the EU or EEA, you can also complain to a data protection authority, such as Latvia's Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija) or the authority in your country.
Children
PakBills is meant for people who pay utility bills and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Security
What the app stores is kept in its private storage on your device, which other apps can't read. Bill pages are loaded over HTTPS. Anyone who can unlock your phone can open the app, so use a screen lock.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example if a new feature handles information differently. We'll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll give notice in the app or on its Google Play page before they apply.
